Last week we were greatly blessed to have long time friends, Bev and Howard Bryant from Shiloh Tabernacle in Muskegon, MI, with us. While here, they were able to witness first-hand the evangelical reach Samaritan’s Purse–Operation Christmas Child has. It was a great thrill for Howard and Bev to be able to personally see the extremely effective, twelve-week bible study that is required for every child who receives a shoebox (Shiloh Tabernacle having prepared and shipped 400 shoe boxes to Samaritan’s Purse Ministries this past holiday season)!
They were able to attend the follow-up bible study, which is being held at Cristo es el Camino Church, Tierra y Libertad. The bible study was facilitated by Lupe Hernandez from Feeding Los Cabos Kids. Pastor Carlos and his fabulous teaching team were there to help, too. This was a great coordinated effort between Cabo English Church’s Feeding Los Cabos Kids and the Cristo es el Camino churches.
The bible study materials were supplied by Samaritan’s Purse. The ministry includes full color, bible study booklets with the shoe boxes when they are shipped, along with training for the program! It really is more than just small presents – it is the gift of hope and an introduction to Jesus Christ!
Bev and Howard told us Shiloh Tabernacle’s goal is to pack 700 shoe boxes this coming year! At times, Samaritan’s Purse has allowed churches to specify where their shoe boxes are sent. Bev and Howard think it would be great fun to contact Samaritan’s Purse and ask for this year’s 700 shoe boxes to be sent to Los Cabos. They said they never imagined they would be able to see an example of the powerful program shoe boxes start!
